For all patterns you will need:
– Yarn of your choice (DK would probably be best in this case)
– Crochet hook size 4mm or less (depending on yarn choice – we need the stitches to be tight. I recommend going one size down than usually required for your yarn weight)
– Yarn scraps to be used as stuffing
– Embroidery needle
– Stitch marker
– Scissors
– Keyring / lobster clasp
Charm 1 – squidgy star
The pattern is worked in the round in spirals. Use a stitch marker to keep track of your rows. Written using US crochet terms.

Make two identical stars:

Make 2 identical stars

Joining:
Put the wrong sides of both stars facing each other, with the right sides facing outward.
Use SC to join the two stars together. When you get to the last point, start stuffing your star..
Continue adding stuffing as you complete your SC joining around the last point of the star.
After completely joining the stars and filling with stuffing, finish off with an invisible join slip stitch.
Fasten off and weave in any ends.
I embroidered some simple lines on my star, and added a string of beans to the centre. You can either use thread to attach your charm to your bag, or you can use a keyring – I managed to find some second hand keyrings on Vinted.

Charm 2 – Cherries
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
SL ST – slip stitch
DC – decrease (single crochet 2 together)
Pattern
Using red yarn, make two cherries:
1. Create a magic ring, SC 6. Pull magic ring closed. (6)
2. Inc. in each st. (12)
3. *Inc, SC* repeat 6 times. (18)
4. SC around (18)
5. SC around (18)
Secure your starting tail and knot it inside the cherry.
6: (SC, DC) x6 (12)
Lightly stuff your cherry with scrap ends or other stuffing. Make sure the right side of your work is facing outwards.
7: DC x6 (6)
Sl st in the next st, fully stuff the cherry and fasten off leaving a long tail.
Using a yarn needle, weave the tail through the front loops of the 6 sts and pull tight to close the hole. Knot and weave in the end.
Make two cherries.

Stem & Leaves (using green yarn):
1. Attach yarn to the top of a cherry using a sl st.
2. Ch20 (or to your desired length), sl st into top of the other cherry so they are now joined by one stem.
3. Fasten off and weave in ends inside the cherry to hide.
Make 2 leaves:
1. Ch 8. In the 4th ch from the hook, work 8 DC. 1 dc in next ch, 1 htr in next ch, 1 dc in next ch. In the last ch: 1 sl st, ch 1, 1 sl st.

Now working up the other side of the foundation chain:
2. 1 dc in next ch, 1 htr in next ch, 1 dc in next ch, 8 dc in last ch (same ch as first 8 dc from beginning, I like to mark this so I don’t get lost)
3. Sl st into the first stitch of the leaf to close
4. Sl st into your stem to join.

Make two leaves. I like to join them either side of the middle chain of the stem. And then use the middle chain in between the leaves to attach the key ring.

Charm 3 – Heart Strings
Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
ST – stitch
TR – Treble crochet
DC – Double crochet
SC – Single crochet
Sl st – Slip stitch
Pattern:
1. Ch 6. TR 4 into 4th Ch, DC 2 in next ch, SC 2 in last ch, ch2 and sl st into 1st ch (picot stitch)
2. Working on the other side of the ch, SC 2 into first ch, DC 2 into next, and TR 4 in next ch. Ch 2 and sl st into the same ch.
3. Ch 7, TR 4 into 4th Ch, DC 2 in next ch, SC 2 in last ch, ch2 and sl st into 1st ch (picot stitch)

Continue for a string of 5 hearts (or your desired amount depending how long you want it to be).

When you have finished your final heart, fasten off and attach to your keyring or tie a loop.
